Private yacht charters
Choose a Monaco yacht through the way guests return from the water.
When swimming matters to a Monaco charter, inspect the transition from deck to water. The actual platform, ladder, crew support and captain-approved stop are more useful than a photograph showing a large area at the stern.
The visit and its shore arrangements
The location has to work as well
Leaving Monaco for a coastal programme does not mean swimming happens beside the boarding berth. The captain needs a suitable stopping place for the actual yacht and conditions. A request towards Cap-d’Ail or the eastern coast is an outline for assessment, not a guarantee of a specific cove.
If water time is the main reason for the charter, state that before building a long route or fixed shore schedule. Getting equipment ready and bringing everyone back aboard use part of the booking. A simpler course may leave more time for the experience than one filled with distant destinations.
Inside the yacht dossier
Look beyond the platform’s size
An expansive stern photograph can make swimming look effortless. Ask for images showing the actual ladder, steps and handholds, including the movement from the platform back into the cockpit. The important question is how each guest gets in and out comfortably, not simply how much space is visible at the waterline.
Different platforms may have operating conditions or movable elements. Have the operator explain the offered yacht’s arrangement and when the crew permits its use. Do not infer that a feature is lowered, opened or used in every location just because a manufacturer image shows it that way.
Match access with the people
Tell the organiser who wants to swim, their confidence and any difficulty with balance, steps or climbing. Children and less confident participants need an agreed supervision arrangement. A crewed charter does not automatically establish a dedicated swim instructor or support person for every guest.
Some members of the party may remain aboard. They should have a comfortable place that stays clear of people returning wet through the cockpit. Consider towels, changing, rinsing off and the meal setup together so that water time fits naturally into the rest of the day.
Keep equipment and activities explicit
Ask whether towels, masks or any other desired items are included, how many are carried and whether sizes suit the participants. A platform does not imply a watersports package. Paddleboarding, powered equipment and specialist activities need their own assessment of equipment, support and operating area.
The same applies to going ashore. A bathing platform and a tender are different things, and neither automatically confirms a landing at a beach or restaurant. If the programme includes a shore visit, request the specific arrangement and its cost separately from the swimming plan.
Request a yacht with evidence of the access
Compare current hull photographs and an explanation from the operator, using manufacturer model notes only as a reference. A model can be a helpful starting point, but the actual equipment and charter arrangement must be confirmed. This matters more than selecting the largest-looking stern from several unrelated images.
Send the date, hours, guests and the importance of swimming, including any assistance needs. Ask for a named yacht with suitable access, a captain-assessed route and a clear account of supervision and inclusions. Review the complete expense and change terms so a different stopping plan can be handled without confusion.
