VanDutch 40 yacht charter along Monaco’s coast
The original VanDutch 40 concentrates a Monaco outing in one open social space, with an aft sunpad and a compact cabin close by. It suits a conversation about the coastline, shade and the way a small party wants to spend the day.
The visit and its shore arrangements
Give a shorter outing one clear destination
A Monaco programme may centre on a coastal cruise towards Cap d’Ail, followed by time at an appropriate stop. A limited duration works best when there is a clear priority: a swim, an unhurried drink aboard or a specific arrival ashore. Adding several destinations can leave little of the booking for any of them.
For a one-way coastal journey, luggage and the shore transfer belong in the first conversation. An open yacht’s social space should not become a storage area for suitcases. Agree what needs to travel, where it can be secured and whether a separate road transfer would make the day more comfortable for the guests.
Inside the yacht dossier
The original forty-foot VanDutch
The VanDutch 40 considered here is the original 12.08-metre model with a 3.50-metre beam. Its straight-sided profile, low windscreen and largely uninterrupted foredeck give it a recognisable outline. It should not be confused with the later 40.2 or a newer model whose technical sheet uses different dimensions.
The useful space is concentrated in the open cockpit. Guests can sit near one another without an upper deck separating the party, while the aft sunpad provides a different position at a suitable stop. The result is particularly relevant to a day built around fresh air and the view, rather than several rooms below deck.
Shade changes the cockpit experience
The original model is shown with different covering arrangements in the market. A bimini can be valuable during a long summer stop, but its coverage, condition and use while moving need to be understood on the actual yacht. Ask for a cockpit view that shows where people will sit under it.
For a relaxed meal, consider the food format as carefully as the table. A compact open yacht can suit a simple lunch very well; a formal service with several courses, extensive glassware and numerous bags asks more of the same space. Explain the occasion so the proposal can match the catering to the day.
A cabin for a different kind of pause
Original technical references describe a cabin with a table converting to a berth, together with a bathroom. That makes changing and a private interval possible without turning the yacht into a multi-cabin holiday platform. If an overnight stay is intended, compare the particular interior and sleeping arrangement before choosing it.
The model is documented around Monaco and the neighbouring Riviera. A proposal for your dates establishes the actual yacht, skipper, departure point, guest permissions and costs. Weather and the captain’s judgement determine whether the preferred coastal plan is comfortable on the day.
