Original Sanlorenzo SL86 yacht charter around Monaco

Seated saloon views distinguish the original SL86, whose lowered bulwark sections and larger windows bring the coast into the room. For Monaco, compare that interior experience alongside the flybridge, keeping this generation separate from the newer SL86 Asymmetric.

Inside the yacht dossier

The sea remains visible from the sofa

On the original SL86, Sanlorenzo lowered sections of the bulwark and increased side glazing to improve the view from the main saloon. Guests can therefore enjoy the changing coastline while seated inside, rather than needing to stand at a window or remain on an open deck throughout the passage.

For Monaco, that is useful when the group has different preferences for sun and breeze. Some people can stay in the lounge while others use the flybridge. The actual furniture position still matters: the most valuable window is the one that provides a comfortable sightline from the seat guests will use.

The original model has its own dimensions

This page concerns the SL86 documented in the manufacturer's 2016 brochure, with a 26.76-metre overall length and 6.35-metre beam. Its specification lists eight guest berths, with crew accommodation separately recorded. It should not borrow dimensions or room arrangements from the newer SL86 Asymmetric.

That generation distinction is worth checking when comparing Monaco offers. A short listing labelled simply SL86 can hide a substantial difference in design. Year, current exterior photographs and the deck plan together provide a clearer identity than the number alone.

Let the saloon and flybridge share the occasion

The flybridge gives a high open viewpoint, while the cockpit and interior offer other settings for a meal or conversation. A day charter can make deliberate use of that variety. Lunch might anchor the gathering in one place, with another area left ready for guests to relax afterwards.

For a private host, consider whether everyone needs to sit together for most of the day or whether smaller groups will divide naturally. That choice affects table arrangements and service. It is more useful than treating the whole yacht's outside area as one undifferentiated entertaining space.

Monaco can be a departure, a view or a visit

Guests may want to embark in the principality, see it from the water or spend time ashore during a longer charter. These are different plans. A confirmed boarding point and realistic shore-access arrangement should support the one you choose, particularly when separate hotel transfers are involved.

A short passage towards Cap d'Ail or Cap Martin can leave useful hours for lunch and a suitable stop. The captain adjusts the route to conditions. A major-event berth and any hospitality access require their own explicit agreement.
